Ida Conradina

Ida Conradina Heinen was born on July 17, 1875  in Loose Creek, Osage County, Missouri.  She married Leo J. Wegman on November 26, 1901.  Leo was born on May 17, 1875 in Taos, Maries County, Missouri.  Their children were Clarence M. (1902-1979), Irma Helen (1904-1990), Edwin L. (1906-1981), and Leonard Joseph (1910-1986).

In 1901 Leo was an agent for the C. R. T. & P. (Chicago, Rock Island, Texas, and Pacific) Railroad in Freeburg, Missouri.  After Leo and Ida's marriage, they moved to Saint Benedict, Iowa in 1902, where he became Cashier and Manager of the People's Savings Bank of Saint Benedict until 1906.  Next he became the organizer and manager of the People's Savings Bank in Templeton; Dedham Savings Bank in Carroll County, Iowa; Farmer's Savings Bank of Halbur until 1931.  He was the mayor of Halbur, Iowa.  He moved to Carroll when he was president of the American Savings Bank there.

He the became Treasurer of the State of Iowa in the early 1940's serving for three terms.  Because of his position at that time he moved to Des Moines.

Later he purchased a bank in Anamosa, Jones County, Iowa which he and his family operated until 1961.  He died on February 13, 1961 in Anamosa.  His wife Ida had preceded him in death on June 2, 1947, shortly after they had moved to Anamosa.
